Cliff was lucky enough to have attended 5 of the 1980 Radio City Shows, so he has to admit that the acoustic music performed there (and in S.F & N.O) was pretty fucking amazing!

But Dire, there just isn't enough time in the day/night to stream all the incredible, acid-fueled, extended free-form jamming here (which certainly did not take place after 1977).

Right now the Ark show from 4/21/69 is blowing my mind.
You want me to instead listen to uninspired, tired musicians?

Since you asked for a fight, I'll thank you and the other "selfish assholes" who petitioned/threatened the band about downloading soundboards.

Why has there not been any Dicks Picks or other vault additions for like a year & a half?

Instead of Dicks Picks #37 (11/11/73) or Three from the Vault (8/27/72), I will be getting a lump of coal in my stocking...

Lump of coal in your stocking?
Lucky.
According to many here, my lump of coal is destined for other less pleasant locales.

Hey Dire--this is a serious question about that...since I missed all the fracas...Did the efforts with respect to them pulling the SBDs, really have an effect? Is that why they did stop everything until now (ie, the new Rhino release in Jan)? I suppose no one knows for sure, but...what do you think?

personally - i seriously doubt it. I'm sure it just had to do with contractual issues and the movement of intellectual property issues. A year and half really isn't that long when those things are involved as far as i know. DP's kinda glutted the market for a while - I'm sure they wanted to hold things off a bit anyways to build a bit of "suspense" - i would have if i was them. I doubt our "miniscule" little group played any part whatsoever unfortunatlely. Just my two cents and i may be dead wrong.

Ha--good one ('dead wrong'). I just wondered cause I got into downloading from the GD store (the 'download volume series' or whatever) before I came to this amazing place, all in the past four months or so, and noticed they stopped that some time ago, and then no DPs, etc., so thought maybe this did have an influence. I guess will see how they do things starting next year.

i think they will start crankin some more out now that the changing of the guard has been completed. that should be a good thing for all of us. personally, i'd rather have the physical discs than the downloads, but that is just me. i like to open a package from the post office rather than from my email especially if it is only a couple of dollars more. plus i get the liner notes and the artwork in a neat little bundle - just me though.

Oh you got that right; really was tough for me to pay up, but until I came here, it was all I could find. I really am new to this whole thing (last trading I did was in the early 80s, really). Would love to start paying, even $25-30, for early era crap in a nice little package with tidbits, photos, etc. I eat that stuff up. I know it's costly, but this is my one 'hobby' and what the f**k, I can afford it.

Cliff could fit five or six guppies on one of those fine kitchen implements and have an outstanding meal with some coleslaw from the local supermarket and a nice diet coke. Sounds like a nice meal for a fag to me.

(i know, i'm goin way over the top, and not even drinkin any scotch)

Dude, its just way too easy to get you going.

Dont take yourself so seriously!

Your kids are asleep. I suggest you spark one up and listen to an Eyes of the World, maybe 2/25/73? 10/19/74?

I feel sorry for you...

Second set Ark show is still blazing here and Im not going to let you kill my buzz for Dark Star.

Funny, you never came back with a "killer Eyes from 1990", or a "blazing show from 1985"?

Funny, you never argued your position, only personally attacked me.

Here is some advise: get need to get a life & stop taking yourself so seriously! You cannot make up for having a tiny penis on this forum.

Just wondering what you thought of 4/12/71?

lol - hey stop looking in my pants - im shy you know.

and me take myself seriously??? wow - you need to pay more attention to what i say 'round these parts.

and seriously, if you think the foreman grill comments are a personal attack - you need to lighten up some - those were goofs (i love those grills - make awesome burgers)

(didn't have a chance to listen to it yet - but wrote it down on my "to listen to" list - will do so soon and let you know - i'm sure it's pretty good)
